DIR#4 Classes
The Facts:
- # More information about DIR#4 with Ann Mony and Ryan Calloway here.
- # We worked out 6 different classes focussing on different key topics. Weekly classes (8 weeks, 75 Minutes each class).# All these curricula are exciting and tempting but have different requirements. As always not every class is for everyone. Please read the “About” and “Requirements” text carefully and sign up for the courses that fit.
- # The maximum of participants is limited to 26 people per class.
- # Therefore we ask to register only if you are committed to coming to the classes and you have a deep interest in Lindy Hop dancing and an exchange about the dance.
- # All classes will take place at Festsaal of CVJM – Wien, Kenyongasse 15, 1070 Wien
- # The Early-Bird-Price per class(till 6th of July): € 135,-, after that: € 170,-

Focus On Rhythm And Musicality

In this class we focus on rhythms and moves based on relaxed fundamentals and good technique!
Requirements:
You know how a nice swing out works. You know 6-count-basics, 8-count-basics, charleston basics and also some variations, and now you want to bring more fanciness and variety to your dancing.

Pre-Lindy Hop And Other Swing Dance Styles

Are you tired of dancing the same lindy hop and charleston patterns? There is a whole world of dance styles waiting for you: bal-swing, slow drag, Peabody, the turkey trot, and more! All these styles are a great resource to spice up your repertoire and incorporate them into your lindy hop dancing!
Requirements:
You are very comfortable with 6-count-basics, 8-count-basics, and charleston basics. You want to bring more variety to your dancing and develop the skills to lead or follow new rhythms and patterns on the dance floor.

Ryan And Ann’s Special Sauce

About:
In this class we introduce you to our favourit moves and stylings. We work on breaking bad habits and building good ones so that you can develop your own style.
Requirements:
You dance a lot and have already been to international workshops. You can dance to fast tempos (185 bpm+), invent your own variations while dancing, and want to work on better technique!
Location:
The first 5 times are at ÖTK Veranstaltungssaal, Bäckerstraße 16, 1010 Wien and the last three dates are at Festsaal des CVJM – Wien, Kenyongasse 15 (1.Stock), 1070 Wien
Jam Circles And Joyful Dancing

About:
In this class we give you the tools to shine in jam circles and competitions: entrances and exits, fast dancing, flashy moves, individual styling, and musicality!
Requirements:
You dance a lot and have already been to international workshops. You can dance to fast tempos (185 bpm+), invent your own variations while dancing, and want to work on better technique! The pace of this class will be quite fast. That means practice between the classes is expected.
Location:

Solo Jazz Performance Group!
7. October – 2. December 2015 (8 x 75 Minutes)
Wednesdays: 20:15 – 21:30
About:
In this class we work on stylings of jazz vocabulary as well as on complex solo moves and sequences. The goal of this class will be to perform a routine or two at the end of this 8 weeks at the DIR#4 farewell party!
Requirements:
You know a variety of solo jazz steps and some of the classic solo jazz routines (Shim Sham, Big Apple, Tranky Doo, etc.). The pace of this class will be quite fast so you have to be willing to practice between classes and rehearse for the show.

Lindy Hop Show Group!
7. October – 2. December 2015 (8 x 75 Minutes)
Wednesdays: 18:45 – 20:00
About:
In this class we will develop a group choreography for shows. We will give you the tools to create your own routines and fine-tune your performance skills. This class shall be a kick off for a long term continuing show group to perform on future opportunities.
Requirements:
You are an advanced dancer. You enjoy dancing swing outs to fast tempos. You maybe have experience with air steps and you are definitely not afraid of them. You are interested in a longer term commitment to rehearse with this group and also to perform on stage.

People attend classes/workshops and the DIR-program entirely at their own risk. Participants of classes/workshops and the DIR-program are temporary “supporting members” of the association IG HOP.
